About Rameshwaram
Rameshwaram is a holy region in Tamil Nadu region of southern India. It is one of the most renowned pilgrim places in the region. It is located on a beautiful island in the lower side of India and is separated by a small Pamban channel from Sri Lanka.

Geography
Rameswaram is located at 9.28° N 79.3° E. It has an average elevation of 10 metres (32 feet). The religious island is spread in an area of 61.8 square kilometers and happens to be in the shape of a conch. The Ramanatha Swamy Temple occupies major area of Rameshwaram.
The island is connected to mainland India by the Pamban Bridge.
